Tongala’s chance for Rams rebuttal in blockbuster final

The Blues will come into the game unchanged from their last outing and it will take nothing short of their best netball to pip the Rams for the first spot in the Murray Netball League grand final, according to coach Grace Hammond.

“Like I’ve said multiple times we know we need to be at our best to beat Deniliquin,” Hammond said.

“We’ll be playing a basic game of netball this weekend, but hopefully that’s enough to get the job done for us.”

In their sole match-up for the year, Deniliquin ran away with a hard-fought 56-49 win.

“We would have liked to have another look at them during the season, but obviously that’s the way the draw went,” Hammond said.

“We’ll have to be on top of the little things, if you give Deni an inch they take a mile, they’re a talented side.

“The bonus of going into this weekend is we have a pretty talented 10 (players) and I have so many combinations I can put out there.

“We’ll back the girls and hopefully we can get the chocolates.”
