Rumba prevailed over Nathalia by eight goals on Saturday afternoon, the latest in a string of good results for the side.
The 45-37 result was Rumbalara’s third win on the trot, a key victory that sees the side maintain its position in the top six.
It has been an impressive season to date for last year’s grand finalists, who have been fielding a different, younger team to the one that played in the 2022 finale.

Meanwhile, Congupna has dropped to seventh on the ladder right behind Rumbalara following its seven-goal defeat to Echuca United.
The Eagles were too strong for The Road, outlasting their foes as they triumphed 47-40.
It was Congupna’s second defeat in a row following a narrow defeat to Moama in round seven – two results that have come against sides jostling for the top six.
Up north, it was Moama that earned the biggest win of the weekend after hammering Finley 56-8, moving the Magpies up into fifth.
“It was really pleasing to get the big win,” Magpies coach Jodie Lake said.
“We knew we’d have to play well and get a really good percentage booster to help ladder positioning if it happens to come down to that.
“The girls did really well considering the conditions and adjusted well.”
In the weekend’s other results, Deniliquin recorded win number eight for the campaign, with the undefeated Rams vanquishing Barooga (0-7) 57-13.
Numurkah (3-5) was too good for Cobram (2-6) as the Blues prevailed 47-32, while Mulwala (6-1) powered past Tocumwal (0-7) 56-26.
The league’s other unbeaten side Tongala (7-0) had the bye in round eight.
