Playing around the ground, Swan picked up a goal and was named in the best players, showing off the dynamic skillset that made him one of Collingwood’s finest players.
Picola United picked up a thrilling one-goal win in the tight contest, and while Swan was disappointed not to pick up a win, he said Mathoura was tracking in the right direction after experiencing a difficult 2022.
“They’re certainly on the improve,” Swan said.
“Obviously disappointed I couldn’t help them get a win but I think they’re tracking in the right direction.
“It can be a slow burn but they’re improving week-by-week, and if I can come out and help them out for a week then I’m happy to do it.”
Swan was a guest at the club last year, and was announced to take part in Saturday’s clash back in January.
The Brownlow medallist said he enjoyed his time with the club.
“They’re all wonderful places which is why I love doing things like this,” he said.
“All the volunteers put in so much effort here and bleed for their footy club. To come up and enjoy the crowd and raise some money was great.
“The club is brilliant. Every footy club has a lot of great people, I’ve enjoyed coming out here.
“I’m more than happy to come out and offer my services if that’s what they want and go out and meet all the wonderful people and having a beer and a laugh which is pretty enjoyable.
“That’s what we’ll do now and have a decent night.”
