The home side struck its second-highest total for the season with 222 before the Magpies bowled it out.
Tatura was in trouble early after only one batter in its top six, Xavier Hutchison (31 runs off 100 balls), scored higher than 16.
But Tatura regained control of the match halfway through the innings thanks to some fine lower-order batting from Preston Aurish (43 from 60) and Nicholas Watt (36 from 38).
Captain Jayden Armstrong was the star of the show with bat in hand as he struck an unbeaten 51 runs from 100 balls, including six fours and one six.
Tatura coach Daniel Coombs believes that despite losing wickets in clumps, the team still did well to post an imposing target.
“We like batting at home normally, but the new ball dipped a fair bit and it moved around quite a bit; there was a lot of seam movement in the first 20 overs, so it was quite hard to bat,” he said.
“I think it was probably an above-par score with the amount of movement that was in the pitch.
“I think it’s going to be a challenge for them (Euroa) to chase down that score.”
For the Magpies, opening bowler James Lloyd impressed as he finished the day with figures of 5-35 from 19 overs, including nine maidens.
After cleaning up Tatura’s tail, Euroa’s openers were sent in to face five overs before stumps.
Still riding high from their first victory of the season last week, Magpies Ashley Ellis (9* from 17) and Andrew Butterworth (2* from 14) were able to negate Tatura’s bowlers and set their team up for a shot at two wins on the trot.
On the flip side, Tatura is hunting its fourth win in five matches and, despite a slow start to the season — Tatura won two of its first seven games — Coombs is proud of how his young side has responded.
“I think, as a side, we have started to mature slightly,” he said.
“Just being a younger team, we just need to be making better decisions in pressure moments.
“With a win, I think we will maybe finish eighth on the table, which would probably be fair on what we have produced this year. As a side, we will keep improving from year to year.
“Getting this win would be an important stepping stone for next season, where we will hopefully keep very much the same side.”
Unfortunately for Tatura (ninth-placed) and Euroa (12th), neither side will participate in finals this season.
