The big talking point came out of Thursday. Reports came in from near and far about a possible flippers and snorkel event that occurred on the 8 th hole. One of our regulars was busy making par when oops! His independently minded golf buggy took off down the slope and plunged into the murky depths of the lurking dam at the bottom of said slope. Not just by the edge but substantially and submarinally sunken it would seem.
Of course, there was plenty of concern because not only were valuables such as clubs and buggy bubbling down deep, but concerns about a wallet with cards, keys and a phone had taken on Titanic proportions. Of major concern was how he would be able to record his par on MiScore!
Word has it the golf bag was somehow recaptured, and all such items soggily regained. No word about the buggy itself! No doubt a visit to Telstra would soon eventuate too. I can only imagine that after all the panic there would be much mirth to follow. Possibly not so much for poor Perry who’s not taking calls for the moment!
One wag on Saturday suggested that he should get penalised 14 shots for grounding his clubs in a hazard! Not to mention putting his balls into the water for penalties as well! C’est la golfing vie!
Winter pennant commenced at Nagambie last week. Our team went down in a nail-biting 3/2 loss with one match going onto the 19 th hole. It’s on again at Hill Top this week.
