Nationals Member for Euroa Annabelle Cleeland is encouraging district clubs to work with their councils to apply for grants of up to $250,000.
The funding is aimed at supporting projects such as new change rooms, improved lighting, water efficiency upgrades, and other essential infrastructure works.
“Grassroots football and netball are at the heart of regional communities,” Cleeland said.
“Quality facilities not only support our athletes, but also help strengthen the health, social and community fabric of our towns.”
While applications must be lodged by local councils, clubs can assist by completing an expression of interest form outlining their project vision.
Cleeland highlighted the pressing need for funding across many regional clubs that have missed out on support in previous state budgets.
“There are still many clubs crying out for upgrades — whether it’s safer lighting, accessible amenities or better grounds,’’ she said.
‘’These grants could be game-changing.”
She also praised clubs who recently secured support under the Sporting Club Grants Program, including Longwood Football Netball Club, Euroa Cricket Club, Benalla Bowls Club and Kilmore Swimming Club.
With funding on the table and community sport thriving, Cleeland is calling on all local councils to act swiftly.
“I strongly encourage every council in our region to put forward applications,’’ she said.
‘’Our clubs deserve the facilities that match their commitment and passion.”
Applications for the Country Football and Netball Program close Monday, July 7, 2025.
