Goulburn Valley League sides have been busy sharpening for the pointy end of the season and the past month has provided clues on who looks dressed to thrill.
On the senior football front, the six have all but been confirmed after a July containing scrape-pasts, smashings and even the campaign’s first draw.
Finals participants in the A-grade netball scene are less clear cut, with a three-horse race of Shepparton United, Echuca and Shepparton Swans remaining within a nose of each other in the past month.
And from rounds 13-15, who has stood tallest?
In Friday’s edition of The News, we will elect the best GVL footballer, netballer and rising star winners of July and will continue to do so at the end of each month for the rest of the season.
The criteria for nominations are based on the past month, with respective open-age Player of the Month and 21-and-under Rising Star nominees required to have played at least two games of senior football or A-grade netball throughout the period.
At the end of the season, all Player of the Month and Rising Star winners will be graded, with the victorious nominees from the selected categories to receive a mystery prize.
