Lallo had her sights well-and-truly set on back-to-back flags on Sunday and shot superbly alongside attacking partner and coach Ellie O’Sullivan.
The two rose to the occasion against an in-form Shepparton United and seized control of the game when it hung in the balance.
The rivalry between two of the league’s perennial contenders has played out on the biggest stage more than once in the past few years and, after a heart-stopper in 2019, Lallo knew the Demons would be firing on all cylinders on Sunday.
“Obviously the Demons are an amazing side, we knew what they were going to put out,” Lallo said.
“But we all have that belief in each other and faith that we knew we could do it, we stuck to what we knew and pushed through the entire game.
“We knew that even if we were 10 goals up, they could come back at any moment, even at half-time, we brought the scores back to 0-0 and started again.”
With a similar group of players saluting on the grand final stage yet again, Lallo said it had been a privilege to secure another premiership with such a special group of girls.
“We went in with a similar mindset that we had when we won in 2019, it was like a repeat basically, it’s so great to do it with this group again,” she said.
“Especially since Nakita (Singe) moved to Queensland, she’s been flying back and forth to play, it’s great to have her and the full team here today.”
