After a season without loss in the Murray Netball League, Rumbalara stunningly lost in round two to Mulwala following its round one bye.
Two weeks later and the A-grade playing group are back to its winning ways.
Its second win on Sunday came following a first half challenge from Cobram, but Rumbalara would enter a groove in the second half to produce an outright victory.
The first term saw swings of momentum, with stretches of consecutive goals scored by both sides dictating patches of the quarter, but ultimately the score would fall marginally in the Tigers’ favour at the horn, leading by one.
Rumbalara tested out different formations and player positioning across the second term, making 10 rotations through play as it looked to find a system that would change the game for the better, but Cobram held firmly onto its slim lead, extending it to two by the main break, scores 20 to 22.
The third quarter is where Rumba found its breakthrough.
A stretch of six consecutive goals gave Rumbalara the advantage it was searching for, before another back and forth affair ensued.
However, ahead of the final change of ends, it was Rumba in front of Cobram by four goals.
Goals piled on in the final period in favour of Rumbalara while its defence held firm, netting a 46-35 result at the final whistle.
Another winning opportunity will come about next week when Rumba face 0-3 side Echuca United at the Eagles’ home court.
In other MNL action, Mulwala defeated Finley by 35 goals, and Tongala clinched a six-goal win over Moama in the Anzac Day contests.
Nathalia defeated Numurkah 68 to 50 on Sunday afternoon, while Congupna, Echuca United and Deniliquin had byes.
