Yarrawonga 47 def Corowa/Rutherglen 37
On yet another beautiful winters day celebrating Indigenous Round, Yarrawonga’s A Grade side was keen to avenge their poor Round 3 performance against Corowa.
The Pigeons started strong and earned an early three-point lead at quarter time.
Whole-court defensive pressure from Yarrawonga was able to slow the delivery of the ball into Corowa’s shooting end, allowing Hannah Symes and young gun Eva Cummins to generate intercepts.
Bridget Cassar and Maddy Allan stood strong in the goal circle against a very athletic and tall defence.
Laura Davis, Laura Irvine and Tilly Kennedy executed a masterclass in patience to limit mistakes and capitalise on turnovers.
At half time, Pigeons were up by five goals, and in the end were able to edge out Corowa by 10 points by the full-time whistle.
Best: Bridget Cassar and Maddy Allan.

Under 15
Yarrawonga def Corowa/Rutherglen
A great win for the Under 15s this week to get them back on the board.
The girls had a great defensive game, with defensive pressure evident down the entire court.
The Under 15s were able to rotate players well and the girls adjusted seamlessly.
The defensive end were great again, remaining consistent with their tight defensive ability.
The mid court was able to efficiently bring the ball down and were calm feeders to the shooters.
Communication was excellent, as the side had done so all day which helped them move the ball steadily down the court.
The shooters stood out again on the day as they put up shots and moved around beautifully.
A much needed win for the girls, onwards and upwards to next week vs Myrtleford.
Awards: Players player - Sienna Clarkson, Coaches Award - Elsie Lidgerwood.
