The 200-game Goulburn Valley League midfielder and premiership stalwart joins former teammates Axel Childs, Tom Sheldon, Josh Vick and Pies’ coach Sam Sheldon for the 2023 season.
Moama has also secured the services of Bombers’ key defender Jack Sheldon, with Pies’ assistant coach Jye Warren explaining former connections were a key factor in the pair making the switch to the Murray Football League.
“The obvious reason that they’ve come over is Sammy (Sheldon),” Warren said.
“Jack is Sam’s cousin so they’ve had a close relationship.
“Sam is definitely the number one man, with Ken at the club as well, then obviously Jack being able to play with his brother Tom is another important factor.
“Brad really wanted to take advantage of our young list and come over and build a good culture around them.
“We felt that (experience) was something we lacked; we were still a pretty young side, but to have that premiership and leadership experience, it was a no-brainer for those guys to come over and hopefully start a bit of a dynasty like they had at Ky.”
Edwards and Sheldon played 15 games during the 2022 season as Kyabram progressed to GVL finals.

“I’ve played against Brad since under-18s and he’s tough as nails,” Warren said.
“That’s what we’re looking to get into our young group, be a competitive side at the 50-50 ball.
“In saying that, Jack and himself just have those natural leadership qualities.
“With their experience and culture they had at Ky over such a long period of time is going to be so beneficial for us.
“The greatest thing is they can both play footy. Jack’s been in their top five players the last couple of years.”
Moama exited the Murray Football League finals race at the preliminary final stage to eventual premier Mulwala after rising from eighth in 2021, and Warren confirmed many players from that side had offered a verbal commitment to return in 2023.
“We’re pretty confident we’re keeping everyone, a couple of players have decided to train elsewhere for pre-season which is fine,” he said.
“There will be some more news to come in the next month.”
