With the difference between the two sides five goals at half-time, it really was anyone’s game.
As is typically the case with the Murray Bombers, they got stronger as the game went along, improving their attacking production every quarter.

Yet, the Demons always managed to do a little bit extra every time to keep their nose in front, with the deficit cut to four goals with a consequential fourth quarter ahead.
A 15-goal last ditch performance from Echuca wasn’t enough to get over the top of Shepparton United, which added 13 of its own to slip away with a narrow two-goal victory.

The final score was Demons 51 to Murray Bombers 49.
