We went into this game without our usual goaler, which saw us having to reshuffle the attack end. A big thanks to Jordan Gray for filling in for us.
We had a slow start, with a few errors costing us in turnovers.
At half-time we were down by 18 goals, but the girls never dropped their heads.
The belief this group have with each other is truly inspiring.
Reshuffling the attack end had it rewards, and saw us chip away at the 18-goal deficit.
Strong defence lead to many turnovers and the connection through the mid-court to our goalers was precise and well controlled.
It was a full team effort and the last quarter was just the same.
The girls didn’t just stop the great work they did in the third. Scoring the first five goals of the last quarter definitely had Barooga panicking.
It was a phenomenal effort from every single player who took the court.
Only going down by five goals shows exactly what this team can do with little bit of belief.

B-grade: Finley 49 lost to Barooga 47.
It was a hard-fought match against Barooga.
Barooga started strong, leading 12-10 at the end of the first quarter.
The second quarter saw both teams evenly matched, ending in a 22-all draw.
The third quarter continued the trend, with the score tied at 36-all.
Despite Finley's efforts, Barooga edged ahead in the final quarter.
Excellent teamwork was shown in the shooting circle, converting opportunities effectively.
Despite the narrow loss, Finley showcased resilience and teamwork throughout the match.
C-grade: Finley 53 drew with Barooga 53.
A slow start saw us on the back foot early, but we soon found our rhythm and it was a tight battle for the four quarters.
Both teams were unable to gain control and slender leads of a couple of goals were hard fought.
Best on court went to Sasha Wood, who fought hard in defence giving it all to the final whistle.
The other award went to Nicole Hargreaves who took on feedback to play a solid game in WA.
C-reserve: Finley 32 lost to Barooga 41.
Going down to Barooga was not what we were looking for, but we did not give up.
We fought hard and managed to keep the margin within reach, but unable to catch up.
Best on court went to Stacey Dolan for her tight defence all game.
The other award went to Sophie Urquhart for taking on the coach’s advice, moving the ball down well.
Under-17s: Finley 68 def Barooga 32.
A great win against Barooga.
Exceptional holds in our attacking ring, paired with perfect timing and movement and defensive pressure was pivotal.
The defence were formidable.
Our under-17s are growing cohesion as a team, which was evident this week.
Under-15s: Finley 34 def Barooga 21.
After a weekend off, the girls were a bit shaky when they took to the court.
It didn't take them long to find their groove and then it was game on for the Cats.
Our shooting was on point.
A comfortable win in the end, which was the result of a great team effort by all the girls.

Under-13s: Finley 9 lost to Barooga 26.
The girls started out strong and continued to play an amazing game.
Although the score didn’t go our way, the girls were able to focus on what we have been doing at training.
Awards: Rori Dean, Matilda Marshall.
Under-11s: Not scored.
The teams played so well, and adapted to the fact that we had four out sick.
Their application and dedication showed on the court and the ball moved very well throughout all end of the court.
Bailey Kennedy and Camilla Massina are showing their strong skills, earnign them the awards.
