After a successful maiden outing against Tasmania in early July that saw Millerick named the female player of the series, the Moama pennant star is hoping the Vics will bring the noise against the might of their northern neighbours.
“It would be nice to get a win considering NSW is one of the strongest states,” Millerick said.
“I’m looking at trying to make everyone louder, because at Moama we’re underneath the dome. If you’re loud, then it’s just going to carry on.”
It will be Millerick’s second test series after previously playing for her home state, Queensland, and her first since helping skip Victoria to a 4-1 series win over Tasmania in the open women’s series.
The open men’s side claimed a clean sweep in that series, and the Big V will be hoping to make it two from two in 2022 on the greens of Moama.
Goulburn Valley Playing Area duo Brad Orr (Shepparton Golf) and Olivia Cartwright (Hilltop) played a key role in July, and will also help drive their state’s efforts against NSW.
The open male and female sides will compete from Friday, August 5 to Sunday, August 7, with play to commence from 9am at Moama Bowling Club on all days.
Men’s and women’s development and Over-60 squads will kick off proceedings on Friday from 5.30pm, while the first open squad tests will take place on Saturday at 9am.
The second test will commence from 2pm, with the finale to be held on Sunday at 9am. Spectator entry is free all weekend.
