A continued push towards the Kyabram District League top four is the primary goal for Murchison-Toolamba this season.
Nick Iorianni resumes his position as senior coach for another season and, after another active off-season and growth from his budding youngsters, has high hopes he can have his team hopping to success in September.
Murchison-Toolamba Football Netball Club president Craig Thompson said the club was in fantastic shape heading into the new season.
“We have looked to largely retain our list from last season, while also having an active pre-season with juniors coming up and some recruits coming to join us at the club,” Thompson said.
“Getting back to country football and netball will be fantastic, we are really proud to have every grade filled in football and netball and, with a new club room on the way as well, it is a really exciting time.”
Despite losing excitement machine Jordan McGregor back to Shepparton and up-and-comer Nick Watt to Undera, the addition of a quartet from Mooroopna and the Lloyd brothers would have Hoppers fans confident of a premiership push.
“This will be Nick’s third year at the helm and he has been a great acquisition for the local community, he’s had a loyal group of players come along with him and each year he has added a couple more which makes for a very promising group,” he said.
“For us at the moment there have been no finals in the past two seasons, so being able to play a full home and away season and hit the finals would be a dream.”
