Hill will most likely be coaching her daugher, Millie, who had an outstanding under-17 season with the Wombats in 2020 and has been impressive in the pre-season with the club.
It has been 12 years since the last Lancaster A-grade premiership and, while nobody is talking about winning the competition at this stage, there is high hopes for the team.
Club president Rod O’Neill said Hill would be a non-playing coach, but she would be bringing with her quality defender Bec Squires.
Squires, who spent last season with Girgarre, will face her old team in the opening round.
“Our A-grade team will be competitive. We played about 11 games last season and they finished seventh on the ladder,’’ O’Neill said.
“They were not far off.”
Millie Hill and Ash Scapin were members of the unbeaten 2020 under-17 team and are expected to slot nicely into the A-grade team.
The B-grade coaches are Georgie Ross and Kelsey O’Neill, while Jo Backway will coach C-grade.
“We will have A, B and C-grade senior teams, but at junior level we will only have an under-13 team. We have lost a lot of our under-17 girls to the seniors and will only have an under-13 team,” O’Neill said.
