Round eight action spelled disaster for the Suns, as they felt the full force of Moreland’s might at McEwen Reserve, Shepparton.
In a tough day for the club, the under-17s were the most successful of the sides.
A cagey first half had neither team trouble the score sheet, with the game seemingly petering out to a goalless draw.
Up stepped Tutu Taya for the Suns, who drilled home the opener with 20 minutes left on the clock to bring a rise from the home crowd.
But 10 minutes later, hearts would be broken as Moreland’s equaliser swiftly dashed hopes of a maiden win for the side.
A lone goal from midfield whiz Gerald Corbo was the only moment of solace during the under-16s’ five-goal defeat.
Corbo breathed life into the Suns’ chances with his second of the season to reduce the deficit at 2-1.
But the Zebras flexed their muscle, adding four more to kill off the contest.
It was a similar story for the under-15s, with Noor Baqiri’s 67th minute strike meaning little in the 4-1 loss.
Lastly, the under-14s were on the receiving end of a goal-scoring exhibition, shipping 13 goals without reply to a rampant Moreland.
