Jets fly high to secure darts championship

The Falcon Hotel Jets darts team have defeated arch-rivals Rich River Misfits in a nail-biting, high-quality game to win the first division one grand final 6-4 in the Echuca Moama Darts Association.

Pastoral Passouts were equally as impressive by winning the second division over Echuca Hotel in a thrilling 6-4 triumph.

A crowd of more than 50 people attended the final at the Pastoral Inn Hotel Motel last Wednesday night, with new licensees Stuart and Tracey playing host.

A monster raffle was held and special thanks must go out to sponsors The River Thai Restaurant, Moama Quality Meats, IGA Echuca, Pastoral Inn Hotel Motel, Tongala Hotel, Lockington Hotel and Echuca Hotel.

Team Registration

Team nominations will be taken for the winter season at the Pastoral Inn Hotel Motel on Wednesday, July 5.

A mixed doubles event will be held on the night and names need to be in by 6.30pm. For those unable to find a lady partner, a drawn doubles event will also be held.

The winter season is expected to kick off on Wednesday, July 19.

Pastoral Premier League

Also on July 5, final names will be taken for the Monday night Pastoral League with hopes of commencing mid-July.

The format will be dependent on numbers, but it is hoped there will be a minimum of 24 players, though 18 will suffice.

Teams of three will play in a round-robin format so all participants play each other over the season.

All games will be 501 singles, each player playing nine games per night.

Annual General Meeting

The AGM will be held on Wednesday, July 26 and will be followed by the graded doubles.

It should be noted that at least one member of each team must attend the AGM.

All players are urged to attend the graded doubles. Venue to be advised.
