A Goulburn Valley League A-grade grand final debut is on the agenda for Shepparton United gun talent Tayla Clohesy this weekend.
The 23-year-old emerging star will hit the court of Deakin Reserve on Sunday, with the midcourter describing the grand final appearance as “amazing”.
“It’s a bit nerve-racking, but it will be good,” Clohesy said in the wake of her side’s semi-final win over Seymour.
“It would mean everything (to win).
“I think we’re surrounded by an amazing team and everyone gets around each other and the support is amazing.”
Playing her 150th game in United’s semi-final victory against Seymour, Clohesy was under no illusion that the Lions will be a tough opponent.
“It’s pretty special; I mean I’m only young and I’m already at 150 games, so it’s pretty unreal,” she said.
“They (Seymour) are super tough, they match up really well against us and it wasn’t an easy win, we had to fight every second of the game.”
Labelling her 150th appearance as “probably the best” game of her career to date, that could well be topped with a grand final win on Sunday.
If United’s semi-final match with Seymour is anything to go by, the big dance is sure to be a cracker.
A 51 to 48 result showcases how evenly matched the two powerhouse outfits are and in a grand final clash that could go either way, a firing Clohesy is sure to help the Demons across the line.
