On Sunday, the men’s Regional Hockey League got under way at Shepparton Regional Hockey Complex with Mooroopna kicking off the day.
Mooroopna managed to battle out a tight 3-3 draw against Eaglehawk Hawks, while in other action, SYC fell to Sandhurst 3-0.

The Strikers had a week off, as their opponent, Eaglehawk Eagles, forfeited, while the region’s only women’s Regional Hockey League team, Mooroopna, also won by forfeit.
In the GVHA B-men’s competition, SYC picked up an impressive 4-0 victory over Echuca- Moama.

Goals to Deep Jhajj and Richard Horton, along with a brace to Hamish Ralston got the home side over the line, with Iain Greig performing well on the day.
In the competition’s other game at the weekend, the Strikers got over the line against Mooroopna, 2-0.

Declan Nabbs and Nicholas Loughhead scored goals for the Strikers, with Ben Costa having a good performance on the day.
The B-women’s competition delivered a game for the ages on Saturday afternoon, with the Strikers picking up a 3-2 win over Euroa.

This game went down to the wire, with two Raechel Gardiner goals and an Amy Harrap finish getting the side over the line.
Meanwhile, the game between Benalla-SYC and Mooroopna did not go ahead due to a Benalla-SYC forfeit.

In the under-17 game, Strikers-SYC moved to the top of the table with a big 4-0 win over Echuca-Moama.
Sam Holland scored three goals for Strikers-SYC, while Haydn Uniacke also got on the score sheet in the big win.
