She set off on February 1 and stayed overnight in Yarrawonga on Friday, February 4.
The journey is expected to take seven to eight weeks.
She is carrying minimal equipment including camping and cooking gear, rations, and safety gear.
Cr Taylor lost her mother to pancreatic cancer, her grandmother to stomach cancer, uncle to brain cancer, stepdad to prostate cancer and her cousin is in the late stages of terminal prostate cancer after only being diagnosed just over a year ago.
Every 30 minutes a father or son will hear the news that they have been diagnosed with prostate cancer so increased awareness and funding is desperately needed.
Glynis is 60 years old and has been training for this journey for over a year.
Glynis takes off on the next part of her solo journey from Yarrawonga.
“This is going to be hard work,” she said.
“But if not me then who? If not now, when?”
