The trip to the Arc Sports Stadium coincides with Warrnambool coming off two losses last week.
For the Gators, a victory is vital to remain in the top echelon of the ladder.
Coach Josh Waight said this weekend was a massive game.
“It’s not easy jumping in a bus for five hours and playing good basketball so we’ll come ready to play because it is a massive game for us this weekend,” Waight said.
“We know they (Warrnambool) have got size so we need to make sure we find bodies on shots, don’t allow them second opportunities and take away their three-point game.
“They really like to shoot the three balls so taking away that and making life as tough as possible for them.”
It was a big weekend for the Gators in round six, with the side defeating the RMIT Redbacks 85 to 61 at home, before a come-from-behind 81-to-100 win against Coburg in Coburg.
Shepparton will be without Ian Wright for this Saturday night’s clash, while Jack and Matt Whitlock will also not be in the squad.
“That’s something we pride ourselves on, not relying on one person.
“Sam Beks had a really good game Saturday night, Matt Bartlett found a bit of form Sunday, so hopefully we have a lot of contributors and that’s something that we pride ourselves on and think it is a bit of a point of difference for us as a group,” Waight said.
“We’re really looking forward to the challenge of playing a really good team and playing in a really good environment, they definitely put on a good show down there so we’re looking forward to playing down there.”
The Gators will travel to Warrnambool to take on the Seahawks on Saturday, with tip-off at 7.30pm.
