The game opened up with the EMUs kicking into a slight breeze.
Rob Guerra started strongly in the ruck, giving the EMUs midfielders plenty of ball.

The EMUs settled early with plenty of forward 50 entries.
Dave Chapman was dangerous in the forward pocket as was Ash Formosa who promised us 15 goals and ended up with none.
Paul Elso again showed his liking to the forward line, leading hard and taking some strong marks.
The EMUs kept up the intensity in the second quarter with Mick Davis slotting one home and not long after Paul Elso kicked a nice goal to give the EMUs the slightest of leads at halftime.
The third quarter was a real arm wrestle, with both backlines keeping scoring to a minimum.
The EMUs’ backline stood up well under pressure, led by our younger guys in Bruce McCahon and Kevin Dunque.
Troy Ramsay was busy all day with gut busting running, both in attack and defensively.
Damian Hammond created plenty of attacks off halfback and had a run through the middle giving the Emus more options.
The last quarter saw the EMUs kicking a couple of goals to get a well-deserved win.
