Inspired by opener Riley Dawson’s ridiculous two-over spell of 5-2, the Blues’ bowlers were on from the first ball in their clash with Northerners, removing the first four batters for ducks to bowl the Jets out for 28 in the space of 14.3 overs.
Facing up: Karramomus’ James Doyle.

This unbelievable procession of wickets came after Numurkah won the toss and batted first with success, posting 4-145 from its 20 overs.
In what was a relatively balanced batting performance, captain Reeve Verhoeven (22), Dawson (21) and Matthew Ward (18) were forced to retire, while Lucas Roberts (21) provided a fantastic late boost to have the Blues confident at the halfway point.

What happened next was simply extraordinary, as Dawson’s new ball blitz had Northerners sitting at a miserable 6-8, with the entirety of its top order back in the pavilion by the fifth over.
Jedd Ring tried his hardest to make an impact, coming in at number eight and hitting 10 off 14 balls, but the damage was already done as Numurkah wrapped up the Jets’ innings for a season low 28.
Old Students White was dominant against its Blue counterpart, coming away with a satisfying 10-wicket win at Kialla Park Reserve.
All poise: Karramomus’ Mason McDonald.

Batting first, Blue began relatively strongly with captain Oscar Lambourn leading the way with a quick-fire 17 not out as his side eyed triple figures.
However, tidy bowling from White, including a fantastic three-over spell of 1-2 by Hayden Singh, had it restrict its in-club rival to 5-96.
When it came its time to bat, White was perfect from beginning to end, not losing a wicket for the entirety of its 20-over innings to easily mow down the victory target.

Zac Bathman (24) and Ashton Young (20) were particularly impressive in the pursuit, as the Blue bowlers simply could not stop the scoring avalanche.
Notre Dame-St Brendan’s rounded out the winners’ list with a clinical six-wicket win over Karramomus at Deakin Reserve.
With the ball, Gemma Boyd (2-6) and Nathan Ferrier (2-11) played the role of chief destroyers, while for the Bloods Riley Gretton was masterful smacking an unbeaten 29 off 16 deliveries to see them to a competitive total of 95.
Taking it on: Karramomus’ Ned Byrne.

In pursuit of the 96 required for victory, the Tigers’ top order was brilliant from the beginning, as Mason Reeves (27), Harrison Baker (19) and Ryan Ash (13) retired after giving their team the perfect platform.
Two late wickets for Luke Dowling softened the blow for the Bloods, as the Tigers claimed the victory with six wickets to spare.
Off the long run: Max Hooper of Notre Dame-St Brendan’s.
