Following on from over 30 outings at amateur level, the Goulburn Valley fighter is preparing to represent the region on the big stage versus Emirhan Cosar at Melbourne Pavilion on May 2.
The 23-year-old, who has previously donned his gloves for bouts in lands as far afield as Norway, Iceland and Poland, forms part of the card for the “Pretender to Contender” event on home soil.
Fighting out of the Team Ellis gym, “Kid Brook” will be vying to follow in the footsteps of the promotion’s progenitor, five-time world champion Lester "The Master Blaster" Ellis, as he embarks on what he hopes will be a long and successful career on the canvas.
For now, the young pugilist’s task is clear - with 13 Rounds Gym star Cosar awaiting him in Kensington - as he looks to deliver on his billing in his much-anticipated maiden professional match.
The super-welterweight fight forms part of a card laden with glittering names such as Australian Champion Tommy Fitzgerald, who will be defending his national lightweight title against Victorian state belt holder Alec Kumar.
Alongside this headline event, the undercard features Ky Hodgson, while Cain Brunton will also make a long-awaited return to action on the night.
Meanwhile, Jason Kelly is set to for a heavyweight showdown, as undefeated prospects Jordan Di Carluccio and Ethan Currie meet for the Victorian title and Lucas Dassios takes on Matt Erceg.
On the eve of stardom, “Kid Brook” has not forgotten his Shepparton roots, and he thanked businesses from across the Goulburn Valley and beyond for supporting him on his journey to this point.
Heading into his debut professional bout, he expressed his gratitude to city firms GV Plaster Products, Welcome Stranger Collectibles, Central Tyre Service Shepparton, Joseph Iaria Concreting and Shepparton Denture Clinic for their support.
“As we go into fight week, I’d like to say a massive thank you to my sponsors,” he said, in a typical show of humility from the fighter.
“All excellent Shepparton and Melbourne businesses who have backed me for my professional debut.
“I’m proud to represent your businesses on my fight kit during the big night.
“I really appreciate your support.”
Speaking to the Shepparton News Meets podcast previously, Andresen took a break from his sparring and conditioning work for an exclusive interview as he readied himself for the fight.
“To get the support I’ve had from Shepparton all of my mates, the sponsors and the gym in Melbourne has been really good,” he said.
“Peter (his step-dad) is the one who got me into boxing and he’s been one of my biggest supporters from the start, my parents would try and support me in any way they could.
“Whether it was driving me down to Melbourne for sparring every weekend, they were always there.
“My mum loves it too, she gets right into it, helping me through the tough times - they’re always like ‘just keep going’.
“In my experience in boxing or martial arts, if you love that sport, you’ll always come back to it because it grounds you with discipline and training.
“Not only just for your mental and physical health, it can take you anywhere - you’ve just got to stay dedicated and put your whole life into it,” he said in a closing comment to Shepparton youngsters looking to emulate his success.
