In what was always going to be a tough match-up against Seymour, Kyabam’s A-grade netball side was unable to get over the top in round 12 of Goulburn Valley League.
Despite the impending challenge, the Bombers managed to keep with the Lions through much of the opening quarter, trailing 10 goals to five at the first break.
As Seymour built on its lead, goaling 15 times in the second period, Kyabram also made a good account of itself, trailing by nine by the half-time siren.
An explosion of attacking play by the Lions saw their lead blossom further, with the Bombers settling for seven goals in a consequential third term.
A slightly better fourth quarter effort was little consolation for Kyabram as Seymour ran rampant down the stretch with 18 goals.
In what started out promising for a Bombers side hunting its second win, it had to settle for a 31-goal defeat at the hands of one of the stronger units in the competition.
The final score was 62-31.
Isla Carver was awarded best-on-court for her work in defence in the contest.
The Bombers will push on to round 13, where they will host fifth-placed Tatura and look for that elusive second win of the season they so richly desire.
