Nick Breslin will join Northerners for the upcoming Cricket Shepparton summer in a recruiting coup for the Jets.
The 2013-14 Lightfoot Medal winner and all-rounder racked up more than 3300 runs and almost 200 wickets in his past nine seasons at Old Students and will head to Tallygaroopna Recreation Reserve alongside former Karramomus captain Stuart Turner.
“To have someone of Breslin's calibre on board is great, his record speaks for itself,” Northerners captain Mitch Brett said.
“Stuey Turner coming across helped get him over the line as well.
“You can never have too many blokes who can do a bit with bat and ball, a couple of slowies as well is great.
“We've got young Harvey (Walker) who will be able to learn a lot from a couple of experienced bowlers who offer a lot of variety between them.”
With the start of the season looming — but not yet locked in — the Jets are waiting with bated breath for further advice like the rest of the competition.
“It's been a little bit subdued,” Brett said.
“Not knowing when we're going to be able to start makes it a bit tough, but we've kept most of the squad from the (qualifying) final last year and now added a couple which is great.
“I'll be going around again as skipper and Steve (Allen) will be coaching again.”
