Round 15 action will pit two of the front-runners in A-grade up against one another in a game that will shape the top four.
Shepparton East plays host to Girgarre in the all-important bout at Central Park Reserve.
Both clubs sit on 40 points, but the Eagles are perched above Girgarre in second spot.
A win on Saturday — on a weekend that the league celebrates its Indigenous Round — will keep the victor firmly in the box seat to finish with the double chance.
Eagles coach Erynn Hueston said her side was champing at the bit to get out and play after the hiatus.
“First and foremost, we are just really excited to get back out on the court and get some normality back,” Hueston said.
“It has been a difficult few weeks. You get a sniff that you might be back playing, but then you go back into lockdown.
“Just trying to make sure we stay motivated has been the hardest part, but I'm very lucky that they are a motivated group. Everyone is really keen to get out there.
“"It's a really important game for us because we want to finish with the double chance.”
Girgarre coach Abby Pettifer said her side was eager to rectify its first loss of the season prior to the break.
“I know the girls are keen to give it a red-hot crack and bounce back after our loss to Murchison,” Pettifer said.
“We are really keen to play another top four side and just see where we stand.”
Although both mentors conceded they did not know much about their opposition, they expected it to be a tough grind on Saturday.
“We know it's going to be a very tough game,” Hueston said.
“But we can't wait to get out there and test ourselves. It's going to give us a really good hit-out leading into finals and that's exactly what we want.”
Pettifer hopes her side can limit the turnovers and keep to its structure.
“We don't know too much (about East), so we can only go off their performances and they've shown they are a serious contender,” Pettifer said.
“It will be a nice, tough contest. We had an intraclub match and we'll have another practice match on Thursday.
“The focus (on Saturday) will be on not turning over the ball, because at this stage we know our structure, it's just about making sure we take care of the ball."
Merrigum will play host to Murchison-Toolamba in another decisive encounter.
The Hoppers will be eyeing off Merrigum's fifth spot on the ladder as they look to creep inside finals action.
Another side hoping to stick in finals contention is Lancaster.
The Wombats are one win outside of the top six and come up against an improved Violet Town.
Nagambie will look to solidify its spot inside the top six with a home match against Stanhope.
Avenel plays host to Rushworth, while fourth-placed Dookie United hits the road to Undera.
Ladder leader Tallygaroopna squares off against Ardmona.
