The Golfers took two points through Sheryl Emmett (24-17) in the defeat.
The Lions only won one rink on their home green against Shepparton Golf to lose 2-61 to 14-72.
Ian Eichfuss snared a 23-19 win, but the Golfers had Graeme Myers (28-19) and Robbie Betson (25-19) in great form to stay well within the hunt for a double chance in division one.
Shepparton Park Tan won 14-82 to 2-57, while Tatura-Hill Top had a three-shot success over Shepparton Park Gold.
David Cartwright's rink took a 31-16 result to lead the way for the Bulldogs.
● In division two Avenel defeated Seymour 14-57 to 2-52 on the back of rink wins to David Furletti (20-17) and Geoff Hateley (19-15).
Other victors of the round included East Shepparton and Kyabram.
● Division three action was headlined by a draw between East Shepparton and Kyabram.
East took seven points from the clash after Pamela Hueston's 29-22 rink win, while the Bombers had nine thanks to Judy Wright (21-16) and Rhonda Woodcock (24-22).
Winners of the round in the division were Mooroopna, Shepparton Park and Mooroopna Golf.
● Another draw in division four between Murchison and Merrigum had both clubs taking significant points from the day.
Murchison's seven came thanks to a Marg Tweddle (28-21) triumph, while Merrigum had nine with Rob Dennis (23-19) and Barry Parsons (23-20) tasting success.
Tatura-Hill Top, East Shepparton Blue and Nagambie were victorious in the division.
● Katandra West, Euroa, Mooroopna Golf and Kyabram were all on the winners’ list in division five.
