A truck carrying a load of animal carcasses and offal would have arrived at its destination much lighter than it had been at its origin after littering a north Shepparton road with its cargo on Tuesday night.

Shepparton police received several calls from motorists at around 7.30pm on August 19, who reported dead animals creating traffic hazards on Numurkah Rd, near Ford Rd.
Acting Sergeant Matthew Clowes said there were around 40 to 50 carcasses and offal spread along a 1km section of road.
The truck had left the scene.
“We would like to catch up with whoever is missing their load,” Acting Sgt Clowes said.
Police believe the truck was travelling south, with most of the animal waste in the southbound lanes.
Numurkah Rd was closed between Ford Rd and Barmah Rd for about four hours while VicRoads cleaned up the scene.
Police investigations into the origin of the carcasses are continuing.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information or dashcam footage is urged to contact Shepparton police on 5820 5777 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online at crimestoppersvic.com.au
