Boats and More had a sign up advertising its Father’s Day deals — except it got one thing slightly awry: the spelling of ‘father’.
Farter’s Day sounds like a much more worrying event.
Oddie’s old man — an avid fan of baked beans — would certainly approve of the name change and of celebrating tooting everywhere, but we’re not so sure it’s something that would be widely embraced.
Was it really a mistake, though? Or has Boats and More cast a line with a clever marketing gimmick Oddie has fallen for hook, line and stinker?

Oops: Another victim of the underpass on Anzac Ave.
At Seymour, a truck has fallen victim to the Anzac Ave underpass.
New Seymour correspondent Bianca Hall was down there in a flash on Tuesday to see the rental truck make a mess of trying to get through town.
The driver was uninjured; however, the damage was significant on both sides of the vehicle.
According to a bystander, the driver didn’t see the warning sign just before the bridge and misjudged the underpass.
It’s the second such incident in two months, and the underpass is proving to be our own answer to the notorious Montague St Bridge in Melbourne, which regularly cleans up trucks of all sizes.
Patten the pensioner?
It’s been a tough footy season, and some coaches have been showing it.
Stanhope Football Club coach Mark Patten thought he was coping quite well until he arrived at the Kyabram league’s Shepparton East vs Girgarre elimination final on Saturday at Nagambie.
The gatekeeper seriously queried whether he had a pensioner’s concession card to be admitted.
At 58, Mark still has quite a wait to qualify for the aged pension, but he did see the lighter side of the question.
