Corowa’s newest Girl Guides, Jasmine Smead, Lilly Iaria, Skye Cofield, Isabelle Smead and Sophie Hayes help new leader Tara McBurnie cut the cake at last week’s Promise ceremony.
Following on from a Come and Try day held at the beginning of the school year, Corowa Girl Guides have been working hard to increase the number of girls in the unit.

This effort culminated in a Promise Ceremony held last Tuesday night for five girls along with one adult who made the commitment to join the Leadership team.
With the hall set up in a whimsical fairy woodland by Tara, the new Guides made their Promise to leader Maree Higgins, junior leader Isabel Carroll and district manager Sonia True.
They welcomed Tara McBurnie to her new leadership role as well as Lilly Iaria, Jasmine and Isabelle Smead, Sky Cofield and Sophie Hayes to Corowa Guides Flexi unit.

The girls join more than 10 million girls across 153 countries and five regions making the commitment to the values and objectives of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts.
Following the promise ceremony, the girls and their families enjoyed light refreshments with Tara cutting the cake.
Plans are underway for another Come and Try Day on June 28 at the Guide Hall.
