Benalla Rural City Council is making it easier for residents to reduce waste and recycle more, following recent updates to its free BRCC Waste App.
Available on Google Play and the Apple App Store, the BRCC Waste App delivers local waste and recycling information including checking which bin goes out when, finding a nearby recycling drop-off point and getting a reminders the night before bin day.
Mayor Bernie Hearn said the free Waste App ensured smarter waste management was only a tap away.
“The BRCC Waste App is a great tool for every household,” Cr Hearn said.
“It helps you check which bin goes out when, find nearby recycling options, report a missed bin collection service.
“And the handy A-to-Z Waste and Recycling Guide allows you to search for household items to see which bin they belong in.
“I encourage everyone to download it and make the most of its easy-to-use features. It’s a practical way to help reduce waste and protect our environment.”
The BRCC Waste App also features public holiday collection updates, special needs waste collection information and service requests to change bin sizes.
The BRCC Waste App is free to download for iOS and Android devices.
For residents who don’t use a smartphone or tablet, the bin collection calendar remains accessible via www.benalla.vic.gov.au or you can contact council on 5760 2600.
