How many bacon and egg rolls can you cook and serve in two hours?

The team at Nutrien Ag Solutions Deniliquin discovered you can do 120 comfortably, and earn almost $4000 for important anti-bullying initiatives at the same time.

The north Deni business turned its car park into a barbecue zone on Friday morning to host a Do It for Dolly Day fundraiser.

Donations made in exchange for the booked breakfast amounted to $1955, which will be matched by Nutrien Ag Solutions.

On top of this, Nutrien Deni has raised another $400 online, with donations still being accepted at https://fundraise.dollysdream.org.au/fundraisers/NutrienAgSolutionsDeniliquin.

Do It for Dolly Day supports the charity Dolly’s Dream which has the aim of helping to create a kinder and safer world for Australia's kids and communities.

Fly-in, fly-out ... literally

The Deniliquin Peppin Heritage Centre shared an amazing story on its Facebook page late last week.

A group of Melbourne women were so insistent on seeing the quilting exhibition currently being shown at the Peppin, they arranged a helicopter to fly to Deniliquin to see it.

'To There and Back' is a modern quilt exhibition, with most of the items on display havng only just returned from the United States. They they were part of Quiltcon 2023 - the world’s largest quilt show

‘To There and Back’ is proudly funded by the NSW Government in association with the Edward River Council. The Deni exhibit closes at 2pm on May 28.

Drop by for a cuppa

This week is Volunteer’s Week, and some of the volunteers in our community are celebrated in a special feature on pages 9-11 of today’s edition.

Many others will be highlighted and celebrated tomorrow, at a special Volunteer’s Week event at the Deniliquin Town Hall.

It is being hosted by the Deniliquin Mental Health Awareness Group in conjunction with U3A and with funding support from Edward River Council.

The all-of-community event will run from 10am and 2pm.

It will feature a volunteers expo - where you can learn more about local groups and sign up to volunteer - and a series of talks. Morning tea will also be served.

Don’t Forget our morning tea stall

Don’t forget to call past the Deniliquin PT office for some delicious goodies this Friday.

The stall will run from 10am to 11.30am.

The ladies will be baking up a storm and will have lots of items to delight the taste buds.

It is a great opportunity to meet the team and grab your Friday edition of the PT while your there.

The stall is to raise funds for cancer research as part of Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea.
