During June, pickleball sessions will be offered at the Echuca and Kyabram stadiums to expand the sport in the region and engage more users.
Campaspe Mayor Rob Amos is excited about the new activities and said it was a great way for community members to get involved and try their hand at new sports.
“The Active Stadiums Pilot Program has been well received in the community,’’ he said.
‘’It’s been great to revitalise the stadiums during day-time hours and introduce residents to new sports and activities.’’
Healthy Loddon Campaspe co-ordinator Alicia O’Brien said they were delighted to continue to support the Active Stadiums Pilot Program.
“The program was first trialled at the start of 2024 to provide residents of all abilities with an accessible, cost-effective way to be active, and we’re pleased to see its popularity increase over the last six months,” she said.
The activities have been planned in collaboration with Echuca Regional Health, Kyabram District Health Service and Pickleball Power.
The program includes sessions at Echuca and Kyabram stadiums through the month of June.
