Local students have been recognised alongside Victoria’s best performing VCE students in the Premier’s VCE Awards.
Charlette Nielsen who studies at Nathalia Secondary College, and St Mary of the Angels Secondary College, was was recognised with a Top All-Round VCE High Achiever and a Study Award for Sociology.
Four Notre Dame College students were also recognised: Abby Smyth for excellence in Environmental Science, Pippa Bullen for excellence in Business Management, Ryley Arnold for excellence in Engineering Studies (VCE VET) and Xavier Hutchison for excellence in Engineering Studies (VCE VET).
These students were among Victoria’s top-performing VCE students who received their Premier’s VCE Awards during a special ceremony at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
A total of 298 Victorian students received 324 awards across 90 subjects, including 296 Study Awards, 25 Top All-Round VCE High Achiever Awards and three Top International Student Awards.
The Top All-Round VCE High Achiever Awards recognise those students who achieved study scores of 46 or higher out of 50 in at least five VCE subjects, while Study Awards recognise the best performers in individual VCE subjects.
“I congratulate the students from the Goulburn Valley on these fantastic achievements. The success of these students is a credit to not only their own hard work and abilities, but also to the support of their families, friends and school community,” Member for Northern Victoria Mark Gepp said.
