Now a part of Shepparton Music Week, Victoria Park Lake is sure to be pumping for the March 11 event.
Headlined by renowned neo-soul singer Kaiit and singer songwriter KIAN, the event will highlight local additions of Aprilis, Vince the Kid and MistyKid.
Seventeen-year-old April Sofra, performing under Aprilis, won the chance to front the stage in her home town of Shepparton and in Bendigo as part of the tour.
A student at Goulburn Valley Grammar School, April has been performing her whole life; however, she said this tour felt a little different.
“There is an element about the Push tour that feels completely new, almost like uncharted territory for myself as an artist and performer,” she said.
“So while I am a bit nervous as the tour approaches, I’ve never been more excited to get on stage and share this new chapter and era of myself as an artist.
“I guess that’s the main goal — to continue following my dream in pursuing a music career for myself. I can’t wait to share the beginning of this journey in my home town.”
The all-ages event in Shepparton is one of 18 that will be held in regional and outer-suburban locations across Victoria.
Supported by the Victorian Government initiative FReeZA, the shows are a way to provide young people with industry skills and experiences in staging events in their local communities.
The Goulburn Valley-based show is supported by a few local names, with JL Productions and Hire and the Lighthouse Project making it possible.
The Push chief executive Kate Duncan said it had been a “devastating 18 months” for young people and the live music sector.
“The Push is excited to have this opportunity to bring Australia’s best artists to regional and outer-suburban Victoria,” Ms Duncan said.
“We’re supporting a stack of incredible artists to get back on the road and into local venues, generating important employment opportunities in areas that have lacked cultural tourism throughout the pandemic, and rejuvenating the all-ages live music scene across the state.”
The Push All-Ages Tour is a fully supervised drug-free, alcohol-free and smoke-free event. Tickets are available via Moshtix
Attendees aged 18 and over must show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a medical exemption as a condition of entry.
