Charity run, ride and walk Tatura Pedals and Steps has partnered with the foundation, pledging to donate sponsorship funds raised at its annual event to the $5 million appeal.
The event brings together the broader community to ride, run and walk in support of causes that create lasting local impact.
Since it was founded by Bega Group in 2008, the event has raised more than $1.25 million for organisations and initiatives across the region.
“For more than 15 years, Tatura Pedals and Steps has united participants, volunteers and sponsors behind causes that make a real difference across the Goulburn Valley,” Bega Group Bulk Nutritionals executive general manager Hamish Reid said.
He said the event was proud to partner with the foundation’s appeal to support a new fully integrated cancer care centre at Goulburn Valley Health.
“This project will help more local families access cancer care closer to home, surrounded by the support networks that matter most,” Mr Reid said.
Registrations are now open for the October 3 event, with participants able to choose from four distances, including a 126km ride and 22.5km ride and a 10km and 5km walk or run.
With many volunteers, sponsors and participants involved, Tatura Pedals and Steps is more than a sporting event, it’s a connection of community to make a real difference in the region it’s staged.
