From runway shows and designer talks to styling sessions and workshops, the program will bring fashion to Shepparton, with all 20 events either free or priced under $60.
The series will coincide with the Archibald Prize 2026 exhibition at SAM, creating a crossover between the region’s major fashion and visual arts events.
Archibald artists Caroline Zilinsky, Stieg Persson and Taryn Cameron-Smith will feature in the fashion program alongside designers Akira Isogawa, Richard Nylon and Josh Deane.
City of Greater Shepparton Mayor Shane Sali said the festival would attract visitors while showcasing the region’s creative community.
“PayPal Australian Fashion Festival will attract fashion enthusiasts from across Victoria, boosting visitation to our region and further positioning Greater Shepparton as a leading arts, culture and events destination,” he said.
“We’re particularly excited to see local creatives and community groups take part in the program, showcasing the talent, innovation and creativity that make our region unique.”
Australian Fashion Festival creative director Damien Woolnough said the Shepparton series would bring together visiting designers and artists with local talent.
“Along with visiting designers and artists, the PayPal Australian Fashion Festival is highlighting creative groups from the Shepparton community,” he said.
“This really is about opening up a dialogue between local and visiting talent that everyone can learn from. This is how fashion moves forward.”
Mr Woolnough said the Shepparton program reflected the festival’s aim to take fashion beyond Melbourne.
“Creativity has no city limits,” he said.
