Strathbogie Shire Council administrator Peter Stephenson has been hosting ‘Talk to the Administrator’ sessions across the region.

Held in Violet Town, Avenel, Nagambie, Euroa and Strathbogie, the talks offered residents the chance to voice any concerns with Mr Stephensen, council chief executive Julie Salomon and other members of the executive.

Mr Stephenson noted several common issues during these discussions.

“While positive feedback on council’s services was noted, the predominant message emphasised the need to address road conditions, drainage issues and improve our commitment to a timely response to enquiries from residents,” he said.

“I acknowledge the longstanding nature of some infrastructure challenges; however, I want to assure residents of ongoing efforts, including increased budget allocations for roadworks in the draft 2024-25 budget.

“Furthermore, funding has been received and work is about to commence on a municipal stormwater strategy to reduce the impact of floods, flash flooding and storm surges on the community.

“This will provide direction on investment opportunities in both the public and private sector in relation to drainage and flood mitigation consideration for our growing townships.”

Residents are encouraged to contact the administrator through council’s customer service team on 5795 0000.
