Echuca College students held a Mother’s Day market on Friday, May 9, with student-crafted goods on sale for a charitable cause.

Year 11 and 12 VCE VM students co-ordinated the market over the past couple of months, planning, making and selling the handmade products on the day.

Teacher Natalie Orchard said the market was open to all Echuca College students, along with five different primary schools in the area.
“And they’re raising money for the Royal Children’s Hospital, so all of the profits we make will go straight (there),” Ms Orchard said.
“It’s very positive, it seems like they’re selling lots of stuff.”
Students could make their own smoothie using the power of cycling.

All candles had sold out just after 10am, but plants, mugs, jewellery, temporary tattoos, and student-made food was still available.
A handy token system was in place for the students to purchase a raft of goods, sold at an affordable price.
This was the third consecutive year the market has run, and hundreds of students could be seen filtering in and out of the Cafe Learning Centre in the morning.
