Speechie sessions coming to the Goulburn Valley

Language and literacy skills are vital to a child’s development from an early age.

Hence, Goulburn Valley Libraries are inviting families with children aged zero to five to attend a Speechies Library Talk this November.

Run by Speech Pathology Australia in collaboration with the Australian Library and Information Association, three sessions will take place across several Goulburn Valley Library locations.

The sessions will be run by a speech pathologist discussing how parents and carers can help children develop their language and literacy skills.

The speech pathologist will also read from one of the winning books from this year’s Speech Pathology Book of the Year awards.

Although mainly focused on ages zero to five years, parents and carers of older children will also be able to attend and have their questions answered.

Children of all ages are welcome at each session.
