The Athlete's Foot is now located at 183 Maude St, with a new fit-out and double the capacity of its previous storefront.
The Athlete's Foot manager Allie Prior said her partner, Heath, had worked for a month on the fit-out of the store with local tradespeople.
“It's been great to be able to support local trades throughout this period,” she said.
With social distancing measures in place, the new store will be able to let many more people through the door during the busy Christmas period.
Mrs Prior thanked all her loyal customers who had shopped locally through a difficult period, and all the staff for their ongoing support.
“We support local, it's one of our biggest values in our business, supporting local and giving to the community,” she said.
“It's been a pleasure to get Kim and Brendan O'Keeffe to come down here to open this.”
Cr O'Keeffe said it was a delight to be able to cut the ribbon to the new store, which was her and her husband's former building when it operated as Mensland.
“My husband had a business here for 43 years, so it's really lovely to be part of the next chapter,” she said.
“It's really exciting to see them expanding, particularly in these times.”
Cr O'Keeffe said the shop would be a great opportunity to draw foot traffic to the mall, and into Shepparton's CBD.
“I'm very excited to think a young person like Allie is ready to take on such an expansion and believe in the business — and attract other businesses into the CBD.”
