GV Health will close its permanent vaccination hub in Shepparton on Thursday, October 13, marking the end of an era.
More than 200,000 COVID-19 vaccinations have been administered since the beginning of the pandemic, and were given at the McIntosh Centre, Tirana City Walk and on mobile vaccination hubs Jabba the Bus and Maxine Vaccine.
Jabba the Bus will continue to move across the broader community around Moira, Murrindindi, Benalla, Mansfield, Mitchell and Strathbogie local government areas, and the locations will be made available on the GV Health website.
After Thursday, COVID-19 and Japanese encephalitis virus vaccinations will continue to be available through an outreach model via pop-up clinics and on Jabba the Bus within the Shepparton area.
Vaccines for JEV are available for anyone over the age of 50 who spends extended periods outdoors.
GV Public Health Unit operations director Cherie Holland said the unit was “extremely proud” of the community for coming forward to be vaccinated over the past two years.
She also said the unit was proud of “our teams, contractors and community partners — who together have made the vaccination hub work so seamlessly”.
Vaccinations are also available from GPs and pharmacies.
