On Tuesday, February 28, buildings around the world will light up to stand with those affected by a rare disease.

Rare Voices Australia’s tag line, ‘share your colours’, will be embodied both locally and internationally, as people around the world illuminate buildings.

Rare Disease Day is used to recognise that rare diseases are often left out of the conversation, due to the small number of people who experience them.

Local mother of a child with a rare disease Tammie Rees said the day meant “inclusion for my daughter and her fellow rare warriors”.

The public is encouraged to participate in this display of support, by illuminating buildings with colours after the sun sets on Rare Disease Day, Tuesday, February 28.
