Tocumwal Rotary president Ron Sampson announced the grant had come from the FRRR’s ‘Small and Vital Program’.
He also said the group had obtained the maximum grant available within the program, being $10,000.
The grant will be used to purchase picnic tables, bench seats and a garbage bin surrounds in the same style as the new seats and benches on the walk.
The perimeter car park fencing will also be replaced with the grant.
Ron also mentioned that the club also had to financially contribute to the project, from funds raised through the Rotary Op Shop.
He thanked the community for their generous donations and support for the Rotary Op Shop which has made this possible.
“With the refurbishment of the information shelters and further story boards about to be completed, this next project will make the WAAAF Creek Walk an even greater asset to the residents and visitors to the town of Tocumwal,” Ron said.
“Thank you to club member Kerry Davies, who has driven the project and obtained the grant funding.”
