A road maintenance blitz in north-east Victoria has hit the halfway mark with 120km of road rebuilt or repaired since September 2021.
There are 134 projects completed, including sections of the Hume and Murray Valley highways, and works have started on Murchison-Tatura Rd.
More major road rebuilding projects are set to be delivered across the region, including sections of the Goulburn Valley Hwy and Benalla-Yarrawonga Rd.
"Regional Victorians rely on their roads to get to work and school, to transport produce, and to support tourism — our investments make sure this can be done safely and efficiently,” Victorian Roads Minister Ben Carroll said.
"Our unprecedented program of road upgrades and maintenance is delivering for the economy in regional Victoria by supporting jobs in our quarries, engaging local suppliers and employing local crews.”
Statewide, the blitz is delivering more than 1000 maintenance projects on regional roads, delivering safer and smoother journeys across more than 1300km of the network.
Crews have also been busy mowing thousands of kilometres of roadside grass and repairing and replacing more than 7000 roadside signs.
As crews continue to deliver these works, drivers are reminded to stay patient and alert when travelling through work sites, keeping workers and other drivers safe.
