Retiring Cobram priest thanks community

Former Cobram Parish priest Father John Corcoran is a man enjoying a well-earned retirement.

However, despite leaving, Fr Corcoran still feels a strong connection with the Cobram community.

He wanted to share his gratitude with the community.

“I’m still humbled and overwhelmed by the response to my retirement.”

“I wish to acknowledge, however inadequately, my gratitude and appreciation for all who organised, contributed to, participated in or recognised the occasion, both at the formal farewell and privately.

“It has been an honour and pleasure to share the life of the Cobram Community for the last 34 years. May God bless you all for your kindness and generosity in word and deed..”

Fr Corcoran’s replacement, Fr Junjun Amaya, has already arrived in Cobram and has continued the good work of the Cobram Parish.

Clarification from previous article

Fr Corcoran was gifted a car at his farewell dinner by members of his congregation. The car came from De Maria Motors but was bought with money donated by members of the congregation.
