A reference group will be established to develop a potential bike jump facility and other cycling infrastructure, Greater Shepparton City Council says.

Prior to the election council was criticised for its decision to remove bike jumps in a popular BMX location along the Broken River.
At the time council said it was a safety and environmental decision to bulldoze the jumps near Lincoln Dve but it has since received close to 100 expressions of interest to find a solution.
Ten community member positions will be made available for the reference group which will help council plan how cycling across the municipality can improve.
Council said not all expressions of interest were focussed on establishing dirt jumps but further expanding ideas for creating more cycling opportunities.
“Due to this, it is likely that outside this reference group there will also be specific working groups that will target actions and facilities for the many different disciplines of cycling,” a council statement read.
“Council is working towards establishing the reference group, and plan to hold the first meeting prior to the Christmas break.”
