The ‘Big Cuppa’ was held in the Edward River Art Society Gallery, in the Deniliquin Multi Arts Centre, and doubled as a launch for a quilting exhibition.
The exhibition is being held in partnership with the Edward River Art Society and quilts on display have been made by members of the quilting groups, showcasing their passion for the craft.
Entry to the ‘Big Cuppa’ was $15, and everyone was welcome.
Deniliquilters president Di Stubbings said the amount raised was mostly from the morning tea, and also from a trading table, donations and a raffle.
“It was very successful, with a great number of people in attendance,” Mrs Stubbings said.
“All in all, we were very happy with how it all went and very happy to raise that much (for Can Assist).”
